Matthew Benay is a screenwriter and writer-producer whose work spans film, television, animation, and video games.
He has sold original pitches, written studio features, created television series, and developed projects with filmmakers including Ridley Scott, Jerry Bruckheimer, Brian Grazer, and Brad Bird. His work ranges from historical adventures and crime thrillers to science fiction, fantasy, and established entertainment franchises.
More recently, he has brought that experience to interactive storytelling, working with international game developers on narrative, characters, and worldbuilding.
A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and a member of the Writers Guild of America, Matthew has also lectured on pitching and story development at UCLA. Teaching and mentoring have become another rewarding part of his work, particularly helping emerging writers find their own voices.
